Before purchasing this one, we consulted with two security installers about replacing our Honeywell access control panel. All of them came with expensive solutions for what is simply provided by this product. Two door control, cards, and card reader. Existing solution couldn't be programmed without an installer as either we don't have the software or the user manual and we were down to one working card.Before installing it, I tested the solution it was easy to install, setup, and work with. Then we went to disconnect old system. We only removed the panel and the readers. We reused the strikers and existing wirings. The old readers did not work with the system probably because the old system was 5 wire connection and this one is 4 wires. I did not bother testing by connecting the five wires as the old reader was worn out. Mounting the reader was identical to the old reader. So for a security aspect, there is no difference.The software was very easy to work with and didn't need to worry about initial IP assignment as the software is able to detect it even when the IP mismatched that of the network. The one thing I encountered was, I couldn't get the doors online when I used x.x.x.250 or higher. When I changed the IP to lower range e.g. x.x.x.5, I had no problems getting the doors online and upload access rights to them. It took me about 3 hours to test system before installation and install the system including the hitches I ran into.The system has everything you need to get started. Other advantages you have with this door is mobile app that allows you to open doors from your cellphone.We had an old battery 12v4ah that we weren't sure was working on not. It didn't have enough power for the system. Door readers weren't powered since there wasn't enough voltage coming out of battery. We installed a battery 12v 7Ah in case power goes out and that too worked great. 7Ah allows us to go up to 6-7 hours without power where as 4ah 3-4 hours only.Two areas I would hope the company improves upon in the future are A. include audible alarm device and trigger when panel is opened. B. design the power supply unit to be replaceable. in the event of it stopping to work. My personal observation is that you had to replace the metal panel (not the circuit board) to get fix a power supply issue. Latter one might be important to some people like me.Installation instructions are easy to follow and there are videos for those who need it.The support guy is great. He was there when needed and answered all my questions within a day or two. Keep in mind time difference. P.S.We are still exploring the product. Three things we are yet to try are 1. have a door in open state between certain hours e.g. 9-5 and then card reader access outside of those hours. 2. Tracking attendance. 3. check to see if it is possible to setup remote alerts e.g. email alerts when door is opened.
